Punjab National Bank Recruitment – Doubts in Eligibility?

With every new bank recruitment, we are getting huge number of questions on eligibility, from candidates.Punjab National Bank Recruitment for 1246 clerks was announced recently & here is the compilation of answers for some common questions asked to us on the eligibility criteria.We have tried to provide clear answers for most!



Q: Can I apply to any state with vacancy for clerk post?

A: Yes.Candidates can apply to any one state where there is vacancy,provided you know the local language of that state.It has to be noted that you must appear for the written test from the centre of that selected state only.



Q: What are the educational qualifications for PNB clerk recruitment?

A: Candidates applying for clerk posts in Punjab national bank must be a Graduate with minimum 50% marks aggregate & should have working knowledge of computers (MS-Office).original article at www.bankexamsindia.com



Q:Should I need a computer certificate to apply for these positions?

A:The bank has not specified the need for certificate/diploma in computer operations in the conditions, but it is better if you have them – to stay on the safer side.



Q: I am currently in my final year/sem of degree.Can I apply for this recruitment ?

A: NO.The bank has clearly mentioned that candidates must have all the necessary qualifications /certificates as on Jan 25th 2010.So, final yr students/ candidates without certificates are not eligible to apply.



Q: I have 45% marks in UG but I have scored 60% in PG.Am I eligible to apply?

A: Of course you are eligible.It is necessary to have 50% or above in your last graduation. Incase,you have scored 60% in UG ,but only 40% in PG – you are not eligible,since you are below 50% in the last completed degree (PG). This was one of the most frequently asked question.



Q: Is there any training available for preparing for this bank exam?

A : Punjab national bank has arranged free Pre-Examination training (clerk posts only) for SC/ST/ExSM candidates at the test centers.Those interested will have to choose the option during online registration.



Q: When will I receive the call letters for Punjab national bank written exam?

According to the notification, call letters will be sent to candidates by post on or before March 29th & those who haven't received have to contact the PNB circle office.
